First off, happy new year! It’s 2005, and the good old Blog O’ J is back and better than ever. Well, maybe we’re just as good as before, or almost as good.
So, today I was trying to install a second tv tuner in my PC (Why? Um… because I can?). Anyway, in the process I bumped one of the serial ATA cables for my RAID array. So when I turn on my computer, my bios detects an error in my stripe array, and switches the primary boot over to my PATA drive, which has an old installation of windows, which didnt have the RAID drivers installed. So windows sees these random drives with a “corrupt” NTFS filesystem. Being the helpful operating system that it is, windows tells me “Let me fix this for you!”, and procedes to wipe out my filesystem.
Somehow, 4 hours later I was able to fix my filesystem… disaster averted.
Guess who’s gonna start backing up important files now?
