Liu’s Reviews: Cereal Bars

Second Review

The first review is of Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bars: Oats n’ Honey.

Granola Bar
These are obviously a very different sort of bar. While the last bar claimed to have crunch, there was really no crunch in them at all. The granola bars, on the other hand, are as hard as rocks. There’s a real kick in biting out of them.

These bars come in packages of two, that are twice as thin. There’s no chewy factor in them; they just snap. This is a nice effect, except for the fact that they break off into little pieces, that get stuck in your mouth, even more so than the Fruit n’ Crunch Bars, and it’s absolutely imperative that you take something to wash them down with.
And also, it gets messy. Crumbs flying everywhere isn’t so great, unless you’re walking around and can leave them behind you (in which case, you’d need that drink).

And the taste? The bars taste relatively bland (after all they are Oats n’ Honey, which was a pretty wimpy flavor last time I checked. It’s relatively nice, but the taste may be too mild for those who want a good poof in the face to wake up for breakfast.

Overall, it’s the texture that both makes and breaks the granola bars. The texture is appetizing and fun to chew on, but unfortunately it also leaves crumbs everywhere and makes it hard to wash down.

I’m going to leave this comment up just so you can see what we have to deal with. Furthermore, since we’re not on influx, there’s a good chance you’ll actually get to read it.
