Another attempted attack

Hello,

It is with much pain that I speak here today: Ask Cheng! was the victim of another senseless attack. The advertisers inserted links in many of the questions to a questionable search engine. Needless to say, we have removed the links.
In addition, we have secured the web page to prevent further attacks from occuring. As a result, we have upgraded Ask Cheng! to Warning Level Periwinkle:

Periwinkle Warning Level Status

Be advised that this is a specific alert for the Ask Cheng! area. Other areas remain on Warning Level Orange status. This will be updated as more intelligence becomes available.

It brings me much heartache to see to what lengths ruthless advertisers will go to destroy our way of life, but be assured: the resolve of the Blog of Justice is firm and our will is strong. We will never back down from this war on spam until every last subversive advertiser has been brought to justice.

Based on our current intelligence, we are declaring strafenet.com to be in a state of alert. There is no need to be alarmed, but please be advised that we are now in Warning Level Orange.

We’re not quite sure what warning level orange is yet, but we will let you know as soon as we have enough intelligence to figure out what it means. Today’s warning level was supposed to be yellow, but we couldn’t find that warning level, so we assumed it must be bad enough to be orange. Either that or I was too lazy to make yellow. We’ll have to get more intelligence to determine the answer to that question.

More news from the war on poker

Our intelligence forces have intercepted a number of online poker advertisement messages posing as comments to posts. It appears as if they were trying to mount an attack similar to the one that occured just a few days ago. They have been intercepted and will be deleted.

Please be assured: Your comments and this blog continue as normal. We encourage you to continue with your daily lives, but please exercise a measure of caution. The first step to the prevention of spam is awareness.

the war on poker

This is a day that will go down in the history books. Not from scientific breakthrough, glorious achievment, or heroic action. No, this day will go down in history as a day of outrage, outrage against a horrific foe: those who would be known as online poker. This foe treads across countless souls on the path to their final destination, using the most despicable weapon of mass destruction: spam.

From this day forward, as the executive-person-who-pays-the-ISP-bills of strafenet.com, I officially declare this website to be in a state of war against online poker. It was the enemy who provoked us with the first act of war. We did not start this war, but I promise, we will finish it.

Consider your days numbered, online poker. As a great citizen once said, “we will find you, we will hunt you down, and we will kill you”
